Texas Instruments and Geocaching HQ team up to spread the love of math
SEATTLE (June 1, 2021) – Mathematics and the great outdoors go hand in hand, from the concentric circles on a tree stump to the symmetry of spider webs. Texas Instruments (TI) and Geocaching HQ have joined forces to spread more outdoor math love by releasing 3,000 limited-edition geocaching trackable game pieces across the country.
U.S. residents can register to receive a Texas Instruments Math Buddy trackable at geocaching.com/TIMathLove from June 1-8, 2021. Once released, trackables will be hidden at geocache locations around the world for participants to find.
“By partnering with Texas Instruments, we’re able to give people a fun way to enjoy math while exploring nature,” said Bryan Roth, Geocaching HQ Co-Founder and President.
Participants are encouraged to post photos to Twitter or Instagram with #SpreadMathLove and #TICacheContest for a chance to win prizes from TI graphing calculators to exclusive math love swag. A special math bonus easter egg is available to those who find all five Math Buddy trackables.
Geocaching is a family-friendly global treasure-hunting game with more than 3.2 million containers (geocaches) of varying shapes, sizes and difficulty levels hidden in 191 countries. The geocaching community of 3 million active players can find and log geocaches using the Geocaching® app or GPS device. Millions of trackable game pieces travel among geocaches annually through the hands of geocachers. The Geocaching® app is available on Google Play and the App Store.
