Geocaching® app now available in Japanese

Seattle, WA (February 6, 2018) – Geocaching, the world’s largest treasure hunting game, is now more accessible than ever to adventure-seekers in Japan. With the latest release, the free Geocaching® app is available in Japanese on both Android and iOS. The app takes players through the fun experience of finding cleverly hidden containers called geocaches. There are tips, hints, and instructions for playing as well an interactive map showing geocaches nearby.

Geocaching launched in 2000 as one of the first location-based outdoor adventure games. Today, there are more than 3 million geocaches hidden worldwide—over 27,000 placed in Japan alone. Geocaches come in all shapes and sizes and are placed in both rural and urban locations. There are already thousands of active geocaching community members in Japan, hiding and finding geocaches and hosting meetup events for other like-minded enthusiasts.

To access the free Geocaching® app and start exploring, download the app via Google Play or and the Apple Store.

For more information about the game and media assets, visit the Geocaching Newsroom.
